Um – I hate to ask, but the straps on my “good bra” keep falling down and these stilettos are pinching my toes… and also, it seems your guests have put a hurtin’ on that box of Shiraz over on the table. I’m running home to change into my comfy clothes and a pair of plastic shoes. Will zip by the store to grab some more wine… don’t go anywhere, I’ll be back!

Marcy: What a great party this has been. I’ve learned that I am not alone in this potty-training mess or in tempting fate by leaving the diaper bag at home. Your post has given me an idea that I may tweak for our own purposes. I gave older daughter a party for giving up the bottle/pacifier and got her ears pierced for getting potty trained. I think the answer is always: Party!

OK… that is one smart kid. My kids would have held out for a year just to show me that they could. My youngest would have come up with an alternative to diapers that still didn’t require going on the pot.

Yes, Marcy, unlike most of your crew of talented bloggers, I did NOT have a tough time finding an appropriate post — I had a tough time selecting from among the multitudes of screaming-to-be-included posts.

What an inspired idea — lying to your child! It would have backfired with me for my elder daughter, and my younger daughter simply would have ignored me. Yes, Mommy Of The Year.

I love the strategically placed black dot on the first picture. Nice work, but if you really were planning ahead you might want to make the dot considerably larger … you know just in case he isn’t marketable in later life. That’s hilarious and I just know that none of my 3 boys would’ve bought your ploy. My oldest two are also 2 years, 3 months apart! They are each other’s best buddy, when they’re not trying to kill each other.
