Sincerely Fro Me to You!

FrobuttonSMALL150Welcome to Sincerely Fro Me to You. A weekly linky party which gives you the perfect excuse to break out those photos which have a funny story behind them. I love to humiliate myself…it is my new extreme sport…but you can humiliate your children if you prefer. Confused? Please read the guidelines here. I hope you will link up….it can be loads of fun. And if you aren’t ready to link up this week- take the time to ‘click-trip’ thru the others listed below. Come on! All the cool kids are doing it.

00000740The second part of my High School years, I lived in Yorba Linda and many of my new friends belonged to Yorba Linda Country Club. Which meant they would invite me to join them to ‘play tennis’ from time to time. Only problem was- I never played tennis. Not ever. So I would put on my best all white tennis outfit, borrow my brother’s tennis racket (for some reason HE played, but I never did) and pile on the 80′s make-up and Aqua-Net (you can’t see my killer white BOW in my hair can you?) and run off to meet my friends at ‘the club.’ Much to my happiness, I learned it was less about actually playing tennis and more about watching the boys play tennis and sitting around looking cute while charging Pepsi’s to your friend’s fathers club account. Are you wondering about the SHEEN on my legs? Yeah- I wore tights on this particular day. For what reason? I can’t imagine.

Earlier this week I played tennis again. With my husband and kids. We are all starting lessons. Where? Yorba Linda Country Club. And no. I did not wear shimmer tights. But I am not ruling out a white hair bow. After all, this time around I might be spending a fair amount of time sitting around watching MY BOYS play and sipping on a Pepsi and I need to look my best.

Your turn. Show me what you got.

Oh that is too funny!! I love the tights. I am so bummed I have no pics from my teen years (my mom hoards them something awful). So, I cannot make fun of my ridiculous outfits or accessories. :)

Such a classic look! I love it. Wish I had me some of those tights today.
Hey, do you still have them? LOL!

Did all the girls wear tights? Was this some kind of country club fad I missed? In any case, you looked fab.

lovin the perfect tennis pose…….and dare I mention the tv tray serving as a nightstand of sorts? I can just see you primpin’ in that wardrobe mirror before this picture was snapped!

Nice pantyhose.

Did someone say High School? I linked to my junior prom photo with the dress that my mom lovingly sewed, even though that lavendar satin was a bitch to work with.

You did mean DIET Pepsi, right? No one in a tennis get-up (with HOSE, no less) drinks Pepsi.

Niiiice.

Classic. I loved those giant bows. And the shimmer tights? So perfect. I just love your pose.

Ah, Keds. Who knew they were not only fashionable, but also appropriate for active sporty lifestyles? Ones that involved Pepsis and charge accounts and boys and why didn’t I grow up in Yorba Linda?
