On the west coast there has been a spam-bot telemarketer HARASSING us on our cell phones and home phones for months. Even if you have your number registered on the Do Not Call list. For my OC readers I have a feeling this will sound very familiar “Hurry. This will serve as your final notice to purchase a warranty on your car before this opportunity expires!” and they call sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. They call my 10 year old sons phone, and um…the last I looked he doesn’t own a CAR. Well looks like I was not the only one who was annoyed. Those geniuses at Reddit have hacked into their voice mail system and have Rick Rolled some of their messages too. Or maybe you just wanna call and notify them the warranty on their JOB is about to expire and offer them a warranty. Be sure to call from a phone that they have ALREADY called you on. The collect all incoming phone numbers!
Up till now it has been impossible to file a complaint with the FCC on these guys for violating the DNC list. But not anymore. FILE HERE. I did. And it feels GOOD.
This sorta of thing is UP MY ALLEY. Recently when I was being told for 3 days straight that an entire customer service department of a medical insurance company was ‘in a meeting’, I used my mad internet skillz to get a hold of the CEO directly. Guess what? They not only became overly accomodating, they sent me 3 appology letters and covered an $8,000 bill. Yeah that is right. Don’t mess with Ms. Glamorous. Ha!

You would think after all this time, and all the complaints telemarketing would be extinct by now… Do people actually still fall for it enough that it’s profitable?
Right when I clicked through my phone rand. I don’t answer those because of caller ID but I’m so sick of my phone ringing I could scream!
I wonder if they’ve been doing this outside of So Cal too? I got a constant series of these calls before I left NC. Maybe it was another company? Not sure. They’d even call after 11 at night. I was so pissed. And it was about a car warranty. Oh, wait. Duh! Sometimes I’m a little slooow. It probably was them as I have a So Cal phone number. Would explain the late night phone calls too as it would’ve been three hours earlier. Maddening!

Marcy, Thank you. I live in Michigan and we had this thing calling our house several times a day. Since we were in the process of getting a new car/trading in old one, we thought it might have to do with that. Then, months later when it was still going on, we realized it was telemarketing. I have bookmarked the FCC site and will use it. Thank you.

You know what’s weird? We don’t get any solicitation calls. Not one. The only person that calls our home phone is my mom–just like when i was in high school

I get calles from Dealer Services. I searched for info and it turns out they somehow get into your phone line to make free calls… ug!!
