The Husband often brings home bizarre and interesting finds from inside his hotel or airport for the kids when he travels overseas. And recently he returned with a box of these…
What the heck is it?
Well according to the beautiful packaging it was a ‘blooming tea’. Although after looking at this photo a bit more closely it looks like a ball of twigs and yarn, nevertheless the boys were excited to watch it bloom. And both of them have become pretty fond of the exotic teas The Husband brings back…so we all imagined this was going to be quite a treat.
So we put it in the hot water and waited.
And waited.
Eventually the little ball did ‘bloom’ although none of us were all that convinced it looked as beautiful as it did in the photo. Perhaps it was because we made it in a beer glass instead of the fancy steemed glass they used. Regardless of how it looked, we were all excited to try the tea. I imagined a light green tea flavor with just a hint of Chamomile…![]()
p
Turns out it was more like a light DIRT flavor with a hint of MOLD.
Ewwww…..GROSS.
Jack was the first to say it – “Well that was a total rip-off”
And Tucker followed with “that’s okay- mom can still blog about it”
Amen son.

hmmm….interesting!
lol @ dirt with a hint of mold
I think I will pass- dirt isn’t my favorite. On the bright side- great post and it looks like you have a mini aquarium in a beer glass- kind of.
I’ve seen those in hotels before and always wondered if they were good but never was brave enough to try … guess I don’t have to now :D. Thanks for being the guinea pig ;-).
New reader … looking forward to getting to know you. Found you through BlogLuxe :D.
Wow…just wow. And to think you actually drank it?
Again I say, WOW!
“I wish there were some use for all of these weeds we rake up and throw into the neighbor’s yard . . . maybe a way to make some money . . . hmmm, maybe an idea will come to me over a cuppa tea.”
