Sorry. I know this photo is so disturbing I ALMOST didn’t post it. ALMOST.
So I get a lot of emails and Twitter DMs from readers who want to know how it is going with MegaBite (our PIG). Didn’t know The Glamorous Life Association was raising a friggin PIG? Read all about it here. Well MegaBite is now approaching 225 lbs and for some reason you don’t want your pig to be over 250lbs at the fair (in 3 long weeks). Something about they pay by the pound UP to 250, but anything over that? Just wasted. So MegaBite is sorta on a diet seeing as she has been gaining TWELVE lbs a week. And that would put us over. So we had to go buy special DIET pig food. Along with a pig brush and something called ‘Swine Shine” so we can get her all purty for the big day. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Nope. Let me tell you we expect get about $600 bucks for her 250lbs at the fair. And if we do? We will be LUCKY if that is break even. And while I am at it, who in the history of 4H decided that WHITE pants and a WHITE shirt were a good idea as a uniform for the kids to wear while they are showing livestock? A mom can only do so much in the laundry you know. I am a woman of limited powers.
Moral of this story? When your kid comes home and says ‘can I raise a pig for 4H?’
Say NO.
And then go buy yourself a $600 purse.
Cuz that is how much you just saved.

Oh my gosh! I am excited that you might get RID of the pig in a few short weeks though! haha!
At least next year around this time you can tell hubby that you just saved him money when you go out to Bloomie’s and shop for a cute new purse…

Ok seriously, he’s big, how did you hoist him up like that without slipping? But, you’re gonna cry when a “farmer ” buys him for all u can eat rib night at his house. Bring your tissues to the fair!
