As a surprise to Jack we went ahead and got him the killer new BMX bike he wanted a whole 2 months early for his birthday. It really seemed silly to have him wait all summer long, while his friends were riding and hanging out together. And nope- he had no other bike to ride (it had been passed down to Tucker). So in celebration of this I took the boys on a local hiking (well I hiked. They rode) path…and into the woods we went to ‘explore’ and you will not believe what we found…this was truly a magical surprise…
Cool huh?
But if you are part of the ‘establishment’ or work for the ‘suits’ can you do me a favor and keep this just between you and me? I don’t want anything to happen to my secret place. And because it was Fathers Day, and I was missing my Dad something awful today…I imagined he orchestrated the whole thing as a gift to his grandkids and me.
Thanks Dad.

magical and WONDERFUL. i’m happy for you and your boys marcy :)
Very cool! I’ve been taking my boys out to tide each day, too. No trails like that, though!
Your boys look like they are in heaven. How fun!! I need to go out and explore our beautiful city. I can’t believe all of these hidden gems. Thanks again for the dry-lake tip. I’m taking the kids exploring tomorrow. :)
I think some dads must have been in on that. In any case, what busy beavers they were! And what a healthy alternative to video games on a summer day.
