I can’t believe it has been a year since I wrote this post about my boys first time at Surf Camp. It was an emotional experience for all of us. This year was much different; less drama and less defeat. But this year I am still stunned at my boys perseverance. Surfing is not for someone who gives up easily or doesn’t like a challenge. Even the best of surfers will tell you it takes lots of ‘wipeouts’ to catch a ‘killer ride’. Which as I type that, I think is a pretty darn good approach to life as well.
So there is a lot of this….
Surfing.
What a killer ride.

That is SO cool….says the Alabama girl. Where there is NO surfing for miles and miles. And what cuties they are!
Thanks for this post! My 13 yr old went to surf camp last week and his hips started hurting. We found out that that was not uncommon b/c of the jumping up on the board. And also he was so discouraged! I wish I’d seen your post a few weeks ago! Thanks – and I love your blog ;-)

Looks like it was so much fun. I can’t wait until my kids are old enough to go to surf camp.
Surf camp is EXACTLY what my daughters need but it’s a bit far for us. So maybe they could raise a pig for next year’s fair instead? ;)
