SkyWatch: Cactus in the OC

skywatch

Fullerton Arboretum, California

Hard to realize with the plethora of vegetation, landscaping and swimming pools but the majority of Orange County is essentially a desert climate. Early in Orange County’s existence water rights and irrigation were the hot issues. And without elaborate water transportation systems we would be seeing more cacti than lawns and ponds.

cool picture. I have bad memories of Fullerton though… Cal State Fullerton ate my boyfriend’s time and we ended up breaking up. sigh. That’s just the way I rolled in the ’90s.

That is one lovely cactus! Yes indeed we do live in a well watered desert here in So Cal.
Corona has begun to enforce 3 day(night really) watering and lots of level 2 water saving measures.
That cactus is starting to look pretty good!
