BlogCrush: The Matador Cantina

jalepenos copyLast night we held our monthly BlogCrush ‘meeting’ at The Matador Cantina in downtown Fullerton. Everyone of these meetings get-togethers has a unique feeling to it since we hold each one in a different local restaurant. Last night was made particularly awesome because The Matador Cantina pulled out all the stops for us with glorious food like Chili Rellenos, a Chorizo Queso skillet (Choriszo Fundido) thing that HAS to be tried and these ‘Mexican’ eggroll things (Cantina Rolls) that were to die for. And there was the pumpkin cake and Cookie Dough Fundido for dessert. But the best treat of the evening for me was the unique Jalapeno Martini. I adore Jalapenos…and this was so deliciously different for a cocktail….I posted this photo on Twitter and got more than 20 people asking where to get one! So clearly I am not alone in my love of all things Jalapeno.

The Matador Cantina is a lovely place, with a lively nightlife. But the food and cocktails are the real star.

And they offer a brunch on both Saturday and Sunday.

Cute group! Not sure about a jalapeno martini, though — it would burn you TWICE.
