Recently Facebook made some changes. Not really sure WHY they did this, but I am gonna assume they really thought these were changes FOR THE BETTER. Now it is pretty clear a lot of Facebook users disagree. And they are being pretty vocal about it. Writing posts and articles and tweeting their ANGER over these little changes. And basically INSISTING that Facebook change it back. Recently I tweeted that I thought all this complaining is silly. I mean it is a FREE site. We don’t pay to use it. Let me repeat..ITS FREE. So they can do whatever they want. Heck the Facebook people could SHUT IT DOWN if they wanted. And then I was sent this video by one of my followers (I sound like a cult leader)…it is just sums it up perfectly.
I am still shocked how a FAX machine works, and those are obsolete already. I just love technology.
No I mean really really LOVE IT.
Like I might have CRIED a small tear when the cell phone man said I couldn’t use my husbands upgrade to get me an iphone without forcing him to have his existing phone reset. If I know anything it is DO NOT mess with the husband’s work Blackberry. It was a monumental task to get his tech people to have it all synced up with his email accounts and there is no way I would want to have him do that again. Plus the husband is NOT a technology lover like me. He can not understand WHY I need want an iphone anyway.
So I left the magical iphone selling store with my head down and a technology tear running down my cheek.
“Don’t worry iphone” I thought.
Someday mommy is coming to get you.

Helloooo! Why does the Headless Dad need a blackberry when he calls email a ‘necessary evil’ and I can’t get an iphone when my life revolves around my blog, twitter, and facebook. Seriously, can a girl get a break around here?
Of course Facebook can do whatever they want, but without the users they have no business and effectively no revenue from advertisers. Piss enough people off through TOS changes, Privacy Terms, etc. and people will jump platforms sooner than later. Free or otherwise. We don’t NEED Facebook, but they sure need us :)

The less one is invested in something the less one understands the issues big and small, and the greater the outrage. At least in my experience. The people who tend to kick up the biggest stink always have the least at stake.

I hate change. I really do but I love technology and Facebook can do whatever they want- however- I still love the old look!
One day the Iphone will be mine.. one day.I’m going to enjoy my Blackberry for now and settle for an Ipod touch while I wait.
