Kodak vs Hp: Still neck and neck…

So I thought I would chime in midway thru the great Kodak vs. HP print-off challenge. I have been using both of these guys for several weeks now, and have turned my home office into a printer command center….

Since I wanted to really get a feel for both of the printers, I put both in my office. Kodak is on the floor because I have run out of table space. The old one there in the box is many years old and after heavy use it is ‘dying’ on me. So this test came just in the nick of time for me…One thing that both of these printers do that annoys me is make noise…for no reason. Its equivalent to a ball player adjusting himself ‘down there’ when you least expect it. And it bugs. My old printer didn’t do that…so it must be part of the new technology or something. I attempted to print out my Christmas card photos, but that also didn’t go too well. I thought I would print out half on each printer…and it turned out the quality was so different I decided to scrap the idea. The HP seemed to print closest to my vision, and the Kodak was very saturated. I had to change the inkon the Kodak already too- very surprising, but it was an easy process.

I plan to print some family calendars later this week, and Christmas gift tags…so we will see.

Right now? It is a dead tie. No sure winner yet. Exciting isn’t it??IMG_8701 copy

HA!! The arrows totally stood out to me. I laughed out loud at the end. There is just some thing about the curl. More aesthetically beautiful…

Whew! I’m just thankful for arrows, PERIOD, or I never would have found the printers in those shots!

There were printers in those photos? All I saw were curly arrows.

I’m an HP girl all the way myself. My new ones make those random sounds, too. The display says they are doing “maintenance.” Whatever. It doesn’t bother me, except when it’s late and very quiet and then it sounds like vampires breaking into the house or something. I guess vampires are cute now, though, so maybe it’s not a bad thing.

My only complaint about the Kodak printer is that it makes lots of noise. And that it is slow to warm up/prepare to print. And noisy. But I love the print quality. I had a Cannon Selphy and for some weird reason it suddenly began printing off center by about 1 mm. I have never figured out how to fix it. It worked great for a while, then that.
