Basic Objectives by my dad.

The thing about helping your mom move 6 years after your dad has died, is that you find things like this and break into tears about 10-20 times an hour and really turn out to be the worst help packing you can imagine. I mean who wants their stuff packed with tears all over it? But I love this little yellow piece of paper I found in my dad’s old brief case. He was a business man, sales management mainly in the apparel industry. Or as he would tell people the ‘rag trade’. This was some list of goals and mission statements to  keep him on track. Or maybe he was presenting a talk…I will never know. But I can tell you that this little yellow legal ruled pad tells a lot about the man and the boss that he was. As I am now venturing in to the new Smartly venture, and wishing he was here for me to talk to strategy with-I find this list of his like a little note to me personally. A business mission. A life mission. His basic objectives are also mine.

Not to mention I could look at his cool should-have-been-an-architect handwriting all day long too.

Frame it with a huge mat and archive glass. That’s a treasure.

amazing. and so profound. So glad it “fell” into your hands, just at the perfect time.

Hugs to you.

Thanks for the morning cry, Marcy! I love when things from the past speak to us. It’s so beautiful. I firmly believe he wanted you to find this when you needed it most.

Karma, a message from your dad…it was just meant to be. I think it would be awesome if you framed it and hung it in your office to see everyday. :)

I agree — I hope you frame it. What a gift for you and your boys.
