Well, I did finally get something to wear. But I might start shopping tomorrow for next year.

May I check you in?

IMG_2087Happily the 2nd Annual Blogger Ball went off without a hitch. Everyone came, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Of course how could youIMG_2123P not when Embassy Suites pulled out all the stops. I was thrilled how my vision for the room decor came together as a backdrop the amazing food and cocktails. A huge roast beef carving station, desserts, veggies, fruits….all of it. Top notch. And working with the team at Embassy Suites was so easy. You give them an idea and they run with it. Paying excellent attention to details (like adding our BlogCrush logo to all of the smallest elements in the room) and having an excellent audio-tech team to arrange for the dual screens for video and twitter fall simultaneously.  I want to thank Sharon Garofalow for working the check-in desk for me, and Marci Taylor for taking all of these photos. As usual I discovered it is really very hard to be in more than one place at a time. And those two ladies took that burden off.

The raffle was exciting and Tracey Clark won the much coveted iPad donated by the superior sponsor Atwater Clothing. And then in a cool turn of events the Atwater guy (Mike Elias) won the other big prize of the night; the original artwork by Lisa Mertins. But lots of other prizes were given out, donated by many wonderful  sponsors and all were greatly appreciated. Including lots of wonderful small giveaways like gift cards and coupons to everyone in attendance (thanks to Snapfish ,Fresh&Easy and Smith&Vandiver). But without a doubt the greatest part of the evening was being on stage and having a captive IMG_2082-1audience listen to me was seeing all my friends and fellow members of the blogfia. I love my blogging community. All such interesting people, smart, clever and full of energy. And I love being part of bringing those people together for this one night. I could look around the room and see new friendships forming…and that is just awesome. Especially since my own closest friends are those I didn’t know before I started this journey into the internet obsession career path a few years ago.

This is my tribe.

These are my people.

And I owe it all to blogging. IMG_2067p

Were you there? Did you write a post? (I hope you do!) Please leave the link on the BlogCrush Facebook page!

And also, add your photos there too so we can untag ourselves from the ones we don’t like and then beg you to take down before anyone sees them so we can all enjoy them!

My friend Modchick has a flickr set of photos from the night here.
