I know. Thanksgiving isn’t over- and here I am with a post about CHRISTMAS. I was going to wait to post it…but honestly I can’t help myself…The holiday season at Disneyland Resort is just so awesome. And this year, the new Cars Land at Disney California Adventure was decked out- with insanely clever themed ‘trees’ and ‘garland’ and all the rest.
Oh and I was super excited to share all this holiday goodness with my friends Ben Parr (yeah, this guy) and Sabrina Bruning. There is nothing better than showing off my Disneyland with someone who gets excited about it. And Ben was pretty darn excited. In fact there may have been a heel click jump on his part when we entered. Because that is how the cool people do it.
My other partner in crime for the day was Jack (I am not a bad mom. Tucker and The Husband were out of town for a hockey game). Here he is sporting his own vintage STP jacket and a tire hat on his head. That kid is such a good sport.
I let Jack pick a place for lunch- and no surprise he picked Flo’s V8 Café. Great food, complete with a canyon view. Not shown here? These little mini individual PIES. Yeah YOU HEARD ME.
We had a great day. Watching the Holiday Parade, stopping to go zombie on a gingerbread man and leisurely riding the train around the park together. As a side note- if you have teenage kids, and are looking for someplace to hang out- Disneyland is it. I have said it before- but Disney ages you DOWN. And everyone seems younger there. Same is true for my too-cool man/boy. Just being together, enjoying the park and laughing for no obvious reasons does wonders to make a mom feel reconnected again. He is growing up SO DAMN FAST. But it is good to know we will always share a love of Disneyland.
