Yorba Linda Country Club, California
The funny thing about Southern California is while it is usually 90 degrees on Christmas it can very easily be cloudy and a cool 65 degrees on the first day of Summer vacation. Newscasters around here like to call it ‘June Gloom’. But it never stops my kids from diving right in to Summer.

(A SkyWatch photo submission)
Orange County, California
It was game 3 of the Little League playoff championship and we came prepared to show our spirit. While our Tucker warmed up for the big game, Jack was put in charge of decorating the stands. And this big brother is just as invested in this baseball team as Tucker. He has attended all 25+ games and a million more practices willingly. He has carried bat bags, chairs and blankets. He has made runs to the snack shack for sodas and pretzels. He has helped to set up the field and clean up the dugout.
And through it all he has shown 100% support for his sport loving little brother.
And then they WON.
Jack was as excited as the team. He jumped. He shouted he lifted his brother into the air.
Tucker’s win was Jack’s win.
Because they are brothers.

8: 47 PM ~ Newport Beach, California
‘
It was a long shot. Literarily. A photo taken on faith.
It was all but totally dark, and I stood on the Newport pier next to the night fisherman setting up for the evening. As I watched them cast their lines with glowing lures to guide the way I leaned against the pier railing. I steadied myself as much as possible, took a deep breath and clicked. The exposure time was LONG so I knew as long as I didn’t breath I might be able to stay still enough to capture this view. See the black specks at the shore line in the water? Night swimmers, who I deemed must be INSANE to be in the cold water on a night like this. As I headed back to the parking lot I saw these people drying off and packing their stuff into their car with a Nevada license plate. I imagined this was the first time they had visited the ocean, and they wanted to get the most out of their day here. Even if it meant braving the crashing waves in the dark.
Crazy about a great sky photo?

Ronald was sure his European stamp collection would impress the lay-dees.
He couldn’t understand why his penpal stopped writting after he sent her this photo.
Welcome to Sincerely Fro Me to You!
Read guidelines for entry here. Its really very simple. And a quick note to let you know I will be moving the FRO to a monthly linky. I am hoping this will give participants more time to gather/scan old photos and get their posts up. (will be 2nd Thursday of the month) And I am still getting so many email questions about scanning-so I want to encourage everyone to use this service. It is cheap and fast and so reliable. And now…on with the show.
This is part of my chilhood neighborhood ‘gang’.
And I am the one in the driver seat. Although I am certain I was just placed there by my mom for the shot. My dad made that killer go-kart…and everyone on our street used it for years. The cute boy I am sitting on? That is my big brother Steve. The blonde at the left? That was the girl who used to try to knock me off my big wheel by throwing basket balls at me. Yeah, real nice. Recently Tucker and I have been looking for plans to build a wood go-kart for our summer wood project (I try to do one a summer with the boys. Ya know. To make them manly and because it makes them think I am way cool) so I pulled this jewel up for him to see. And the main thing he was interested in? The key necklace around the next of the neighbor-girl in the back. So I had to explain ‘latch-key kid’ and how times have changed. And I thought I had done a pretty good job….until Tucker just said “Naw. That can’t be true. She is just wearing it to look cool”. I giggled and understood. Because sometimes it is hard to believe how different things are…and at the same time how much hasn’t changed.
Now. LINK UP. I can’t wait to see what you bring to the party!

Brea, California
Originally I took this photo because The Husband’s name is Edward. And after I looked at the image later, I realized I had captured a pretty nice California sky as well.
I love it when something good, turns into something better.
Sorta like The Husband come to think of it.
.
Happy SkyWatch to all my fellow friends with their head in the clouds.
Welcome to Sincerely Fro Me to You. What is this? Read all about it here and then join in.
As you know, I like taking photos. I have even been called a photographer. Yes, I have been paid to take photos for years. And as you can imagine I have taken hundreds of thousands of photos of my family as well. But what you may not know is that, I also love taking photos of STRANGERS. I even have a file on my computer called just that ’strangers’, and that is where I found this not-scrapbook-worthy photo to share today. We visit Marco Island nearly every year, as The Husband’s family has a winter home there. And for those of you who do not know is an Island on the gulf side of Florida. And it is beautiful. However, being part of Florida it has a large population of older individuals who have long since put their bikini days behind them. And that makes for some awesome photos. And some killer tan lines….

Okay everyone. Your turn. I hope you join in….and if not, take a second to click around to others on Mr. Linky. Its what the cool kids do.
(As of this publish Mr. Linky wasn’t working. So please leave your links in the comments)
Anthony always thought Maria was his mother’s favorite.
But when mother allowed her to stand on the new sofa for the photo, it confirmed it.
Disneyland ~ Anaheim, California

While visiting the park last week, I looked up and noticed the parade float toppers were Mickey and Minnie inflatables. Which both made for a nearly irresistible photo opportunity given the deliciously cloudy sky as a back drop. And when the Mickey shaped confetti started to fall, I clicked away at furious speed, capturing the classic Matterhorn Mountain and even a little glimpse of Tinker Bells fly-line in the sky. And I giggled when I saw the final photo; it looks like Mickey has his arms stretched out to see if he can catch some of the celebration…..or he is giving the sky a great big hug.

Welcome to Sincerely Fro Me to You! This is a Linky Party, and it is BYOP so drop your post at the door with Mr. Linky. Guidelines and explanation on why we would all want to post embarrassing photos can be found HERE.
Once upon a time (circa 1982) my mother bought (for all of us to give)a new arc welder for Father’s Day to give to my dad . Because they were romantic like that. Actually, my dad said it was one of the best gifts he had ever received, so she knew him pretty well I guess. Anyway we had this giant box and no wrapping paper. But for some reason we did have several rolls of blue grid Contact Paper. So I decided to ‘wrap’ the large and very heavy box. I couldn’t lift the box up, so I wrapped everything but the bottom. And then I got all creative; I sat there an cut out letters for the box in a contrasting Contact Paper. (Really Mom, why did we always have so much contact paper in our house?) I must have been sitting there for quite a while, because somewhere in the middle of my creative frenzy, I fell asleep. With pieces of contact paper stuck to my legs. And of course- my Mom took a photo. Because she knew someday I would want to embarrass myself in front of the whole Internet. Thanks Mom. And Dad? Not sure if you get Wifi up in Heaven…but I am sorry I put contact paper over the only box opening. I didn’t really think that one thru to well.
.
Okay People. Your turn.
Just give it a try.
Its like therapy. Only cheaper and less effective.
